Australia's NBA stocks continue to grow with Boomers sharpshooter Ryan Broekhoff signing a two-year, $A34-million deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
The 27-year-old from Melbourne, who has played with Russia club Lokomotiv Kuban the past three years, was being pursued by other European clubs when the Mavericks swooped.
The modern NBA game requires three-point specialists like Broekhoff to stretch defences.
Broekhoff averaged 12.3 points in Russia, which included shooting an impressive 51 per cent from behind the three-point arc.
The Mavericks also picked up Los Angeles Clippers All-Star centre DeAndre Jordan on a one-year $US25-million ($A34-million) deal when free agency opened on the weekend.
Broekhoff, a 201cm tall guard-small forward, was a member of the Australian squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The financial details of Broekhoff's contract were not immediately released, but the second year of his deal with the Mavericks is not guaranteed.
Another Australian, guard Dante Exum agreed earlier this week to a three-year, $US33-million ($A44.5-million) contract extension to stay with the Utah Jazz.
Queensland's Aron Baynes also signed a two-year, $US11-million ($A15-million) deal to remain at the Boston Celtics.
