Australia A have coasted to an eight-wicket win in their one-day match against India A after dismissing the tourists for just 55.

Australia A have dismissed India A for just 55 in their opening one-day tournament in Townsville, cruising to an eight-wicket win.

Victorian quick Chris Tremain was the chief destroyer with the ball, picking up 5-25 including five wickets in three overs after the tourists were sent in to bat.

He was ably assisted by South Australia's Daniel Worrall, who finished with figures of 4-26.

The pair bowled 14 overs between them, with the remaining Indian wicket falling to Queensland all-rounder Michael Neser in his solitary over.

Only Axar Patel (15) made it to double figures for the tourists.

Australia A lost two wickets in the chase, including skipper Chris Lynn for a duck, but coasted on the back of an unbeaten 23 from opener Kurtis Patterson.

The quadrangular series features teams from Australia A, India A, South Africa A and a national performance squad.

India A take on South Africa A on Wednesday in the second match of the tournament in Townsville.
