Australia faces tough UN questions on climate action

Australia will face tough questions over its climate change targets in Bonn, Germany, at a lead up meeting to United Nations climate change negotiations in Paris later this year.

Australia is being reviewed - along with around 20 other developed nations - with countries formally scrutinizing each other's contributions to international climate action.

Oxfam Australia says recent months have provided painful reminders of the consequences of inaction, with Cyclone Pam ravaging Pacific nations, leaving a trail of hunger and homelessness.

Climate change policy advisor with Oxfam, Doctor Simon Bradshaw has told Sonja Heydeman this is a crucial point in discussions.
