Australia into wheelchair basketball final

Australia's men's wheelchair basketballers have advanced to the final of the world championships with a huge comeback win over Turkey.

Australia's men's wheelchair basketballers have scored a miracle comeback win over Turkey to advance to the final of the world championships.

In their semi-final in the South Korean city of Incheon on Sunday, the Rollers were a massive 20 points behind at halftime but stormed home to snatch victory 63-58.

The triumph sets up a gold medal match against the United States as Australia aim to defend their 2010 crown and exact revenge on the team that inflicted their only defeat at this tournament.

Trailing 42-22 at the main break, the Rollers lifted in the third quarter as Justin Eveson and Shaun Norris began to assert themselves on the contest.

Eveson (20 points and five rebounds) and Norris (21 points, eight rebounds and four assists) were the inspiration in attack while the defence was resolute in restricting Turkey to just five points for the term.

With the momentum firmly with Australia, the Rollers produced a brilliant final quarter to post 24 points - more than their first-half total - and keep their opponents to just 11 points.

The scores were levelled with less than three minutes remaining as part of a 12-3 run by the Australians that ensured the memorable victory.
