Australia sends more clothes to Ukraine

Another round of winter clothing has been donated by Australia to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Another round of boots, balaclavas and neck warmers has been donated by Australia to the Ukrainian armed forces.

The winter clothing, which also includes extreme cold weather underwear and skivvies, was sent as part of an assistance package announced by Prime Minister Tony Abbott last September.

Australia has now donated approximately 130,000 items to the country.

On March 3, 2015 the Australian ambassador to Ukraine visited the warehouse where the delivery was made.

Defence Minister Kevin Andrews said despite the distance between Australia and Ukraine, both have worked closely together since the downing of flight MH17.

The latest contribution further shows Australia's support for the people of Ukraine, and their pursuit of a secure and stable future, he said in a statement on Monday.
