Australia is giving another $10 million in humanitarian aid to help Nepal recover after last month's deadly earthquake.

The extra support will go towards longer term recovery projects, including helping women and vulnerable communities create small businesses, getting children back to school and rebuilding safer education infrastructure, with advice from Australian engineers.

The latest pledge takes the federal government's overall contribution to $20 million.
