Australia under pressure at U-19 World Cup

Australia must beat Zimbabwe in their under-19 cricket World Cup group match to remain a chance of winning the tournament.

Australia believe the pressure of sudden death will ignite their under-19 cricket World Cup campaign, ahead of their group stage clash with Zimbabwe.

The Aussies began the tournament in New Zealand with a 100-run loss to India and face a Zimbabwe side coming off victory over Papua New Guinea.

"There's certainly pressure. It's sudden death now, so we've got to win the next two," vice-captain Will Sutherland said ahead of the Group B clash in Lincoln on Wednesday.

"Pressure is not necessarily a bad thing.

"It's a really important game and we really want to win the next two and give ourselves a chance for quarter-finals."

Victorian paceman Sutherland conceded Australia were outplayed by India, having been bowled out inside 43 overs chasing 329 for victory.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe claimed a 10-wicket win in a match reduced to 20 overs, with spin allrounder Wesley Madhevere taking three wickets and scoring an unbeaten 53.

"We can't underestimate them at all," Sutherland said.

"We haven't really seen much footage. I do know they've got a lot of spinners.

"Through the middle, they'll look to bowl spin, and then (they have) a few handy batsmen.

"We've got to be right on our game."
