The Australian government is being urged to do more in response to allegations of government corruption in Papua New Guinea.

It follows a violent confrontation between students and police in the capital Port Moresby, which left dozens injured.

A group of people gathered last week outside the PNG Consulate in Sydney in support of the students.

One of the participants, Jeanne Haurama, told Uma Rishi the resignation of Prime Minister Peter O'Neill was one of their demands.
