Australia v Bangladesh snapshot

A closer look at the washed out Champions Trophy clash between Australia and Bangladesh at The Oval on Monday.

AUSTRALIA V BANGLADESH AT A GLANCE:

-STATE OF PLAY - . Bangladesh 182 Australia 1/83 - match abandoned - one point awarded to each team.

MAN OF THE DAY - Mitchell Starc. A brilliant spell of fast bowling blitzed the Bangladesh tail as the big left-armer took four wickets in eight balls to finish with 4-27.

KEY STAT - David Warner reached 4000 runs in his 93rd ODI innings - the fastest ever by an Australian and the third quickest of all time behind Hashim Amla and Viv Richards.

KEY MOMENT - With 16 overs of the Australian innings completed with the loss of one wicket, the rain started to fall and didn't stop. Only four more overs were required for what would have been a comfortable Duckworth/Lewis victory.

BEST QUOTE - "It was a little bit frustrating obviously not to get a result in. You know, the groundsmen, they perhaps could have shown a bit more urgency being a big tournament." Australia skipper Steve Smith, who was unhappy with the decision to come off for light rain and the time it took for The Oval ground staff to prepare the ground for an inspection an hour after play was initially stopped.
