Australia v India day three Test snapshot

A snapshot of what happened on day three of the third Test between Australia and India at the MCG.

AUSTRALIA V INDIA THIRD TEST SNAPSHOT

STATE OF PLAY: India first innings 7 (dec)-443, Australia first innings 151, India second innings 5-54, an overall lead of 346.

MAN OF THE DAY: Take your pick - Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah for his 6-33 or Australian counterpart Pat Cummins for his 4-10.

KEY MOMENTS: Bumrah's slower ball to trap Shaun Marsh lbw at lunch was a sublime piece of bowling. Cummins was on a hat-trick with his awesome spell approaching stumps - if only Marcus Harris at leg gully was standing a metre to his right for Rohit Sharma's pull shot.

STAT OF THE DAY: What was that about the lifleless MCG wicket? After only two wickets on day one and five on day two, 15 wickets tumbled on day three.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "In the next few months, Bumrah will be the No.1 bowler in all three formats." Former Australian captain Michael Clarke.
