It's been 19 years since the massacre of 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica.
The massacre followed the town's seizure by Bosnia Serb forces on July 11, 1995.
The atrocity was labelled a genocide by two international courts and so far the remains of just over 6000 people have been exhumed and reburied.
Born in Srebrenica, Amela Grebovic moved to Australia at the age of 14 with her family after the massacre.
She's also part of the The Association Podrinje 11 July Srebrenica which along with other community groups holds a rememberance service for those who perished at this time every year.
She spoke with Peggy Giakoumelos about the long-term effects of the killings on survivors now living in Australia.
