An Australian charity set up to help Syrian orphans is under investigation over alleged links to Islamic State.

A member of Dar al Quran wa Sunnah was arrested in Lebanon in May, with the ABC reporting on Friday two other dual Australian-Lebanese members are under investigation in relation to fundraising charges.

The Australian charity watchdog commissioner Susan Pascoe also said the allegations of raising funds for jihadists and recruiting for IS would "absolutely" trigger an investigation.
