As families across the country celebrated the special role fathers play in their children's lives, new ABS data revealed that six per cent of Australian dads in two-parent families with children under the age of 15,  were born overseas.

This figure has increased by 31 per cent from ten years ago, with 20 per cent of those fathers born in Southern Asia.
