Australian prop Salesi Ma'afu will appear before an RFU Disciplinary panel after being charged with hitting a player during an English Premiership match.

Australian prop Salesi Ma'afu has been cited for allegedly striking an opponent while playing for Northampton in an English Premiership match against London Irish.

The 31-year-old Australia international will appear before an RFU Disciplinary panel on Wednesday after being charged with hitting Irish prop Tom Court during the first half of Northampton's 15-9 victory on Friday.

Both Ma'afu, who is joining French giants Toulon in the summer, and Court were yellow-carded following an incident just before halftime.
