Australian terrorist death unconfirmed

IS recruiter Neil Prakesh is reported to be dead but the Turnbull government says it's hard to confirm given the Iraq/Syria situation.

Australian Islamic State recruiter Neil Prakash is believed to have been killed.

News of Prakash, who was linked to the alleged Melbourne Anzac Day terror plot and known for using social media to lure potential recruits, has been posted via an online messaging used by IS sources, News Corp reports.

"The Australian government cannot confirm reports of the death of Neil Prakash at this time because of the serious security situation in Syria and Iraq," a spokesperson for the Attorney-General told AAP on Sunday.
