Two dual Australian citizens are among hundreds on board a burning ferry off the coast of Greece. It is understood they are trapped with nearly 300 people.

Two Australians are among hundreds of people trapped on an Italian ferry that caught fire off the coast of Greece.

It is understood the Australians are dual citizens who were trapped with nearly 300 passengers and crew.

Rescuers have been working to save the passengers. So far 190 people of the 478 on board have been evacuated.

One person was killed while trying to jump into the Adriatic Sea, and another person was injured, the Italian Coast Guard says.
