* Joe Burns becomes the 441st man to play Test cricket for Australia

* Nathan Lyon has 132 Test wickets. With nine more scalps he will draw level with Australia's most prolific offspinner Hugh Trumble

* Shane Watson may not be among the runs this series, but his Test average at the MCG is 89.60. He has scored 448 Test runs at the MCG - more than any other venue

* Mitchell Johnson needs 22 more scalps this series to celebrate his 300th Test wicket. The only other Australians to have reached that milestone are Shane Warne (708), Glenn McGrath (563), Dennis Lillee (355) and Brett Lee (310)

* India have not won a Test at the MCG since 1981.
