Somerset skipper Chris Rogers recorded his first century for the English county cricket side, against one of his old ones in Middlesex, as the latest round of County Championship matches got under way.
The former Australia opener took the honours with the bat at Lord's on a day when Lancashire's Kyle Jarvis produced the most notable bowling elsewhere.
Rogers (104 not out) posted his 74th first-class century, with just eight fours from 201 balls, in an unbroken stand of 125 with the near equally prolific James Hildreth (60 not out) as Somerset reached 219 for two before the evening rain arrived on Sunday.
Also in the first division, Jarvis (six for 70) helped to make short work of all apart from opener Rory Burns (92) for Surrey between the showers at Old Trafford, where the Londoners struggled to 191 all out.
Lancashire were a very careful 16 for none in reply.
