Aust's Humphries stars but Kentucky lose

Sydney centre Isaac Humphries had 12 points and five rebounds in his best game of the year but his Kentucky team lost their NCAA basketball quarter-final.

A scoring burst by Sydney's Isaac Humphries has failed to lift the University of Kentucky to victory against the University of North Carolina in their NCAA basketball tournament quarter-final.

No.1 seed North Carolina won a thriller 75-73 on Sunday to move on to a final four clash with third-seeded University of Oregon on April 1.

Humphries had eight of his season-high 12 points in a three minute burst late in the game to give second-seeded Kentucky a 64-59 lead, but North Carolina clawed their way back.
