Azarenka storms into second round

Simona Halep headlined a long list of women's seeds to slip up early on at Melbourne Park but Victoria Azarenka won her clash 6-0 6-0.

Victoria Azarenka has stormed into the second round of the Australian Open, dishing out a double bagel to Alison Van Uytvanck.

Azarenka wasted little time on Tuesday night, bossing the Belgian around Rod Laver Arena to complete a 6-0 6-0 victory in 53 minutes.

Azarenka, who won the Australian Open in 2012 and 2013, next faces Montenegrin Danka Kovinic.
