Three alleged members of the Brothers 4 Life gang have appeared in court charged over a shooting at Bankstown on Thursday that wounded three men.

Three alleged members of the Brothers 4 Life gang have appeared in court over a western Sydney drive-by shooting dressed in head-to-toe forensic suits.

The shooting at Bankstown on Thursday morning left three men injured, police allege.

Four men - Wahed Karimi, Sarkhel Rokhzayi, Mobin Mirzaei and Jamil Qaumi - face numerous counts of possessing and discharging an illegal firearm with intent to murder.

The men were arrested over the wounding of Khalil Khalil, Abdul Abu Mahmoud and Hassan Souied, two of whom are understood to have taken themselves to hospital after the shooting.

Karimi, Rokhzayi and Qaumi appeared in Fairfield court on Thursday afternoon.

All three were wearing head-to-toe, sheer white forensic suits as they sat in the dock amid a heavy police presence.

Karimi is facing 12 charges, including weapons offences and assault charges.

Rokhzayi is facing nine firearms charges.

Mirzaei is facing 13 charges - three of shooting with intent to murder and 10 firearm-related offences, while Qaumi is facing seven charges including, but not limited to, allegedly issuing criminal directions to the others.

Magistrate Vivian Swain ordered the four to appear via video link in Burwood Court on Monday.

Only Qaumi has indicated he will apply for bail.
