Baby boy badly burned by fryer oil

A 10-month-old boy has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after being burned by hot oil from a fryer at a home on the Gold Coast.

A baby boy is in a serious condition in a Queensland hospital after being burned by hot oil from a fryer.

Emergency services were called to the home at Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast at about 9am on Tuesday where they treated the 10-month-old for extensive burns.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
