Bad AFL starts under Malthouse

EARLY-SEASON STRUGGLES UNDER MICK MALTHOUSE

* 1989: In Malthouse's last season at Footscray (now Western Bulldogs), they have a 1-6 start on the way to 13th with a 6-15-1 record.

* 2004: In his fifth year at Collingwood the Pies get off to a 1-7 start on their way to 13th with an 8-14 record.

* 2005: Collingwood get off to another 1-7 start and finish the season 15th with a 5-17 record.

* 2015: In his third season at Carlton, the Blues start with 1-5 and are second-bottom.
