Bad weather and a lack of blockbuster movies have dented profits at theme parks and cinema operator Village Roadshow.
The group's net profit dropped by 26.3 per cent to $13.3 million in the half year to December 31, while revenue fell 1.9 per cent to $469.57 million.
The company blamed atrocious weather for keeping crowds away from its Gold Coast theme parks, while box office attendances were also down.
Village says while the second half is expected to be stronger, thanks in part to the release of blockbusters including Mad Max: Fury Road, the group's underlying full year net profit will fall to $46-$52 million from $56.5 million.
Shares in Village were 15 cents, or 2.35 per cent, weaker at $6.23 at 1155 AEDT.
