Baird renews NSW infrastructure vow

Premier Mike Baird has told his new cabinet they have four years to make a difference after congratulating them on the coalition's NSW election victory.

Premier Mike Baird has used his first cabinet meeting since the March election to renew his pledge to build a record amount of infrastructure in NSW.

Mr Baird told colleagues on Friday the government felt a deep sense of the trust placed in them by people at the poll two weeks ago.

"It's something that we don't take for granted, and something we're determined to deliver on," he said.

"We said we were going to build a record amount of infrastructure. That's exactly what we're going to do.

"We have four years to make a difference to people's lives and that's what this cabinet is about, that's what this government is about."

Just before the cabinet meeting started in the NSW Government offices in Sydney, Mr Baird was seen chatting with new Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian and Health Minister Jillian Skinner.

The coalition was returned to government on March 28, despite a nine per cent swing to Labor.

Friday's cabinet meeting came two days after Labor's Luke Foley was unanimously re-endorsed as leader by the caucus.
