The Bear Pit of NSW Parliament is not short on thorns, but could we soon see a rose ceremony in the chamber?
Premier Mike Baird floated the idea during his enthusiastic live tweeting of The Bachelor finale on Thursday night.
Baird blamed his daughters for forcing him to watch the TV dating show.
But Bachie quickly caught Baird-y’s attention.
And even Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian couldn’t escape.
Baird kindly offered a few suggestions to the show’s producers on how they could improve the format. Who doesn’t love a bit of Barnesy?
Having teenager daughters sitting beside him could not have made a show about a guy dating 21 women at once, and then whittling them down one by one, all on national television, easy to watch for Baird.
But Baird managed to find the irony in the reality show.
The show went on, and on, and on and the Premier kept the comedy coming. Of course there was a geez-who’d-have-thought-they-would-drag-this-final-episode-out-even-more twist. Cue the dad jokes.
In the end – finally – it was Premier Baird who was declared the winner.
I can't take any more. Off to bed. Key learning: Cabinet decision making might be a lot simpler with a rose ceremony process. #TheBachelorAU
