Baldwin rejects reports he'll leave Libs

Liberal MP Bob Baldwin says media reports he is considering running as an independent are "just so wrong".

Federal Liberal MP Bob Baldwin has dismissed media reports he's considering jumping ship to run as an independent in the Nationals-held seat of Lyne.

The Australian on Thursday reported Mr Baldwin was considering defecting after the seat of Lyne absorbed much of his seat of Paterson in the Australian Electoral Commission's recent boundary changes.

Mr Baldwin said the reports were "just so wrong".
