Michael Barlow's AFL career is at a crossroads after the veteran midfielder was delisted by the Gold Coast.

The ball magnet endured a frustrating stint at the Suns, first overcoming a second severely-broken leg last year before a fractured jaw earlier this season led to facial nerve damage.

But despite his prolific form at NEAFL level - he averaged 42 disposals, eight marks and six tackles from seven games this season - the 30-year-old managed just three senior games under rookie coach Stuart Dew this year.

His final senior outing came on the weekend, with Barlow among the Suns' best with 35 touches, nine marks and five tackles against Geelong.

He played 126 games for Fremantle before being cut in 2016 and picked up by the Suns as a delisted free agent.

The Suns also announced rookies Josh Jaska, Max Spencer and Mackenzie Willis would not have their contracts extended next season.
