Heavy rain has washed out the entire fourth day of the second cricket test between Bangladesh and South Africa, leaving the prospect of a result bleak.

Not a ball has been bowled on the last three days and officials said there will be no attempt to make up for lost time on the fifth day on Monday.

Bangladesh is 246-8 in its first innings with captain Mushifuqr Rahim topping the scorecard with 65 runs.

Nasir Hossain is batting on 13.
