Banned Bombers on the AFL comeback trail

Of the 16 remaining players who received doping bans over Essendon's 2012 supplements program, 10 will line up in round one of the AFL season.

PAST AND PRESENT BOMBERS RETURNING FROM DOPING BANS

ESSENDON

- Jobe Watson, Dyson Heppell, Travis Colyer, Cale Hooker, Michael Hurley and Brent Stanton all to face Hawthorn at at the MCG on Saturday night

- Tom Bellchambers, Heath Hocking and Ben Howlett available but not selected, while David Myers (finger) was unavailable

MELBOURNE

- Jake Melksham named to face St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Saturday

- Michael Hibberd (achilles) expected to return soon

PORT ADELAIDE

- Ruckman Paddy Ryder will line up for the Power against Sydney at the SCG on Saturday

- Veteran small forward Angus Monfries (shoulder) had a limited pre-season and was not considered

ST KILDA

- Key defender Jake Carlisle will make his Saints debut against Melbourne on Saturday

WESTERN BULLDOGS

- Stewart Crameri, who joined the Bulldogs at the end of 2013, returns against Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday night

The remainder of the 34 past and present players banned over the club's 2012 supplements program are no longer in the AFL system.
