Barangaroo site reopens after bomb scare

Workers have returned to Sydney's Barangaroo construction site, two hours after a bomb scare.

Police and emergency services were called to the site shortly after 10 o'clock following reports of a bomb threat.

Six blocks of the CBD, between Sussex and Clarence streets, were blocked off.

A police spokesman will only confirm the site was evacuated because of a "police operation".

But Lend Lease confirmed the evacuation was prompted by a bomb threat.
