Barcelona's Dutch international winger Ibrahim Afellay has been given the green light to play again five months after undergoing thigh surgery, the club confirmed on Friday.
"(Coach) Gerardo Martino has admitted he likes Afellay's game and that he could call on him for the remainder of the season," a club statement read.
The 27-year-old's time with Barcelona since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2011 has been plagued by injuries, including cruciate ligament damage in September 2011 that kept him out for the majority of the 2011-12 season.
Afellay was then loaned out to German club Schalke 04 for last season and has not featured since returning to the Catalans during pre-season.
He has played just 30 games for Barcelona, currently top of La Liga, scoring two goals.
