Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb has sold the former home of Johnny Cash and June Carter.
Gibb and his wife Linda bought the house and property that Cash and Carter called home for over forty years in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
The couple bought the house for $US2,300,000 ($A2.48 million) in January, 2006 and planned to renovate the structure before moving in; however, a spark ignited a preservative being used by workman in April 2007 and the building burned to the ground.
The Gibbs originally talked of rebuilding on the property, using the original foundation, but nothing came of the plans and, on March 18, they sold the land to Lakehouse Holdings.
Overall, the Gibbs took a $300,000 loss on the property, sellingit for $2 million.
