Ashleigh Barty has stormed into the quarter-finals of the WTA's Strasbourg International with a straight-sets win over Camila Giorgi.

The 21-year-old Australian was on court for a just over an hour in the 6-3 6-0 victory against her outclassed Italian opponent.

Barty joins fellow Australian Samantha Stosur, the sixth seed, in the last eight, and will face compatriot Daria Gavrilova if the seventh seed can defeat Russian qualifier Elizaveta Kulichkova in their second round encounter.
