Brisbane's eight-day break between games is exactly what the Broncos need to keep their NRL juggernaut rolling, forward Adam Blair says.
After beating Canterbury on Saturday, the Broncos won't return to the field until their home clash with Wests Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
The extended rest comes at the perfect time for Queensland Origin stars Corey Parker, Sam Thaiday, Matt Gillett and Darius Boyd, who backed up last week's series-deciding win by facing the Bulldogs.
Justin Hodges should also be ripe for a return after missing the 16-8 triumph in Sydney.
All will be better for the opportunity to restore their energy levels ahead of the business end of the season, Blair said.
"I think we all need it, especially those Origin guys who have come off a couple of tough games," he said.
"They're our leaders, we're just the followers that work off the back of them.
"For them it's about recovering and just making sure they're ready to go again.
"Their leadership, we can't do it without them and that's what they bring."
Blair said a level of excitement is coursing through the Broncos camp over just how far this team can go this year.
Wayne Bennett's men have not dropped a premiership point since the start of the State of Origin period, which speaks to a level of depth in the Brisbane squad that would make rival clubs envious and frightened in equal measure.
"I think it tells by the way we're playing," Blair said.
"Every week we seem to be upbeat, training seems to be good, the staff have been really good about making sure we're enjoying ourselves at training.
"It shows on the field. We're just working hard for each other and having a bit of fun with our football.
"It's a long way to go but we seem to be on the right track."
