The serial sex attacker who killed Jill Meagher will have his minimum jail term increased when he is sentenced for raping another three women.

Adrian Ernest Bayley, 43, faced a Victorian County Court plea hearing on Wednesday for crimes including rape, assault and indecent assault and threat to kill arising from three separate attacks, two of which occurred while he was on parole.

He was found guilty by juries of raping an 18-year-old woman in St Kilda in 2000 and a 25-year-old woman and a Dutch backpacker in 2012 months before he strangled Ms Meagher.

Bayley, who has raped a total of 10 women, is serving a life sentence with a non-parole period of 35 years for the rape and murder of Ms Meagher.

Judge Sue Pullen on Wednesday said she would increase his minimum jail term when she sentences Bayley after he was found guilty of raping three women.

"I am not minded to leave the non-parole period at 35 years," Judge Pullen said on Wednesday.

Defence barrister Saul Holt said he would not argue with the proposition that the non-parole period be "put forward into the future".

"It's only a matter of how far," Mr Holt said.

Under his current sentence, Bayley will be 76-years old when he is eligible for parole, given time already served.

Bayley was dressed in a blue shirt and navy tie with his hair pulled back into a ponytail for the hearing.

He was required to answer questions about his age and occupation and when asked his address he gave a smile, and a little laugh and said, "ah, Melbourne Assessment Prison".

Prosecutor Peter Rose told Judge Pullen there was little that could be said on behalf of Bayley.

Judge Pullen later adjourned the matter to Thursday, when Bayley will be sentenced.
