Canterbury coach Des Hasler has coined them Voldemorts.

But his Melbourne counterpart Craig Bellamy might be tempted to use far less family friendly language when he speaks to NRL referees boss Tony Archer on Monday about the performance of his officials in Manly's 24-22 win over Melbourne.

The Storm were on the wrong end of two poor officiating calls in the round two fixture at Brookvale Oval on Saturday night.

But due to the NRL's new blanket ban on commenting on referees, Bellamy was very tight-lipped.

"I know where you are leading but I'm not allowed to say anything," he said.

"If there are avenues for me to talk to someone about tonight I will do that.

"But at the end of the day I can't say anything."

To his credit Archer spoke to the media about the two decisions which went against Melbourne.

In the first, with the scores locked at 6-all Storm winger Young Tonumaipea appeared to have pounced on a kick to score, but head referee Jared Maxwell ruled he knocked on and without going to the video ref awarded Manly a 20m restart.

However, replays indicated the ball came off Manly's Cheyse Blair before Tonumaipea pounced.

"At this stage I don't know (if the decision was wrong)," Archer said.

"I've got to go back and review that, I've only seen the live vision.

"I haven't seen the replay.

"He (Maxwell) made a decision live which we expect him to do but obviously without the benefit of me sitting down and going through it, I don't know yet.

The second incident came in the second half when interchange forward Tim Glasby was disallowed a try for what was termed a double movement.

"The double movement went through a different process," Archer said.

"He (Maxwell) started with a no try, obviously in relation to that, the ball hit the ground short of the line and the video referee ruled that he (Glasby) drove off his leg and that put him in the in-goal.

"I was very happy with the process."

Archer will present the results of his review in his weekly video address on Tuesday afternoon.
