Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith is taking over the helm of the Seven Network's operations in Queensland.
Mr Roberts-Smith has been promoted from deputy general manager to general manager following the retirement of Neil Mooney.
"Ben has been a part of the Seven Network for a number of years and has impressed us greatly with his management and leadership skills," Seven West boss Tim Worner said.
Australia's most decorated soldier, Mr Roberts-Smith joined Seven in 2012 and has worked on several productions for the network, including a documentary about the Anzacs that was screened in April.
He left the Australian Defence Force in 2013, two years after being awarded Victoria Cross for bravery under fire in Afghanistan.
