Bennett believes in Broncos' rotation

Broncos coach Wayne Bennett is continuing his rotation policy over the Origin period to keep his NRL squad reinvigorated.

Rotation has been a dirty word in Australian sport since the days of former chief cricket selector John Inverarity.

But Wayne Bennett has revived the art of bringing players in and out of his side as he seeks to re-invigorate Brisbane over the State of Origin period and keep them top of the NRL ladder.

Queensland forward Sam Thaiday will be rested for the Broncos' round 16 clash against Newcastle at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

Supercoach Bennett rested Justin Hodges and Corey Parker for Brisbane's win over Melbourne on Sunday, four days after Origin II. Parker was also rested earlier this year in the wake of Origin I.

Parker takes Thaiday's spot at lock, with Hodges' return knocking Daniel Vidot out of the side, with Jordan Kahu shifting to the wing.

Fellow ladder-leaders North Queensland have opted to rest Johnathan Thurston for their match against Cronulla in Townsville due to a shoulder injury. Rory Kostjasyn comes in for Thurston alongside Michael Morgan in the Cowboys' halves.

Greg Inglis returns to fullback for South Sydney's match with Manly on Friday night. Alex Johnston shifts to the wing and John Olive is out of the side.

Origin stars Jacob Lillyman and Ryan Hoffman move back into the Warriors side as they host Canberra on Saturday.

Luke Kelly will partner Chris Sandow in Parramatta's halves for their home clash with St George Illawarra, Corey Norman moves to fullback due to Reece Robinson's fractured cheekbone.

Sydney Roosters welcome back suspended prop Sam Moa and Michael Jennings (stood down) for their home match against Gold Coast in Gosford on Sunday. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves hasn't been named but is expected to return from a calf injury after two matches out.

Robbie Farah returns to hooker for Wests Tigers against Penrith at Leichhardt Oval.

Trent Hodkinson returns to halfback to partner Moses Mbye in Canterbury's halves, with Josh Reynolds to start from the bench against Melbourne at ANZ Stadium on Monday.
