Bennett over the moon with Broncos' form

Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett says he could not be more happy with the Broncos' form but still holds one major fear ahead of the NRL finals.

It may have been hard to tell but Wayne Bennett says he could not be more happy with Brisbane's form as they look to end their NRL title drought.

But the Broncos coach admitted he still harboured one fear ahead of the finals.

Bennett almost cracked his poker face when jousting with media ahead of Thursday night's heavyweight clash with Parramatta after being asked if he was happy with second-placed Brisbane's form.

"Do I look happy?" a stony faced Bennett asked.

"No comment," was the journalist's reply.

However, Bennett was deadly serious when he conceded Brisbane could not be performing better as they look to win their first trophy since 2006, ending the six-time premiers' longest title wait.

"Everyone is in form and confident. It is a good place to be," Bennett said.

However, Bennett admitted he still had one fear about his in-form Broncos.

"That we just don't turn up on a given day and not play well but we have been dealing with that well so far," he said.

"There are always things as a coach that are in the back of your mind about what can go wrong.

"But at the moment they are doing a lot of things right and it will be a good test for them (against Parramatta)."

Bennett was again in a playful mood when asked about the importance of maintaining their top-two spot, thus ensuring a home final.

"You guys are great. You make the eight then it's about the four and when we are in the four it's about the two," he said.

"Why can't we be happy that we are there and are playing some good footy?"
