BHP Billiton's new spinoff company South32 is expected to take up naming rights on one of Perth's largest corporate towers after signing a 10-year lease.

Brookfield Property has confirmed South32 will lease around 8,300 square metres of the 52-storey Bank West building at 108 St Georges Terrace from May when shareholders vote on approving the demerger.

South32 will operate aluminium, nickel, silver and coal assets, with 25,000 employees across southern Africa, Australia, Colombia and Brazil.
