IT'S BEEN A BIG AFL SEASON FOR MAJOR MILESTONES - AND THERE ARE LIKELY TO BE MORE BEFORE 2015 IS OVER
MICK MALTHOUSE - Was deservedly the toast of the town when he coached his 715th game against Collingwood in round five, passing the longstanding record of Collingwood icon Jock McHale. But little more than three weeks later, Malthouse was ignominiously sacked by the Blues, ending his career.
DUSTIN FLETCHER - The ageless Bomber became only the third member of the 400 Club when he stepped out against Richmond in round nine. A fair proportion of his current Essendon teammates weren't even born when Fletcher made his senior debut way back in the Bombers' premiership season of 1993.
KANE CORNES - Made history as Port Adelaide's first 300-gamer against the Tigers in round eight and then promptly retired to become a firefighter. To the surprise of no-one, the ultra-consistent Cornes was among the Power's best players in his farewell match.
COREY ENRIGHT - Will become just the third Cat to play 300 games in Sunday's home clash against Melbourne. Were he to play on next year, Enright would have Ian Nankervis's club record of 325 matches at his mercy.
BRENT HARVEY - Barring injury or suspension, Boomer is on track to join Kevin Bartlett, Michael Tuck and Fletcher in the 400 Club in round 17 against Brisbane. Still one of the quickest players in the league and a key member of the Kangaroos' midfield, making it likely he will push on for a 21st campaign in 2016.
St Kilda skipper NICK RIEWOLDT and his former Saints teammate and now North Melbourne onballer NICK DAL SANTO could also reach 300 games this year. Riewoldt needs to rack up 12 more matches in 2015, which would require him to play all 11 remaining home and away games plus one final, which is unlikely. Dal Santo is due back from a hamstring injury in round 12. He would need to play the remaining 11 home and away games plus two finals, if the Kangaroos make it that far.
