Losing little more than a dozen kilograms on The Biggest Loser: Challenge has been enough to kick start Natalie Wohlers on the road to shedding more weight.
The thyroid cancer survivor was the fourth contestant eliminated from the Network Ten series on Tuesday night, leaving nine fellow weight loss hopefuls to battle out the series.
Wohlers weighed in at 117.6kg on the series which is centred around the residents of the country Victorian town of Ararat.
She departed 12.6 kilograms lighter and says she has continued to lose weight since she left the series.
"I have lost weight since and I have been able to keep it going," Wohlers told AAP.
The 39-year-old said she was glad to depart after becoming homesick and having a tense relationship with her Biggest Loser trainer Shannan Ponton.
The youngest of Wohlers four children is just two-years-old and the eldest is 16.
"I had trouble with the fact that I kept getting asked about my family while I was in Sydney and I found that really difficult and I was homesick," Wohlers said.
"Even though I wanted to leave the show when I wanted to leave, I don't regret it."
Wohlers said her weight started to balloon soon after she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2001.
In the back of her mind she wanted to lose weight but was caught in a daily spiral of looking after her children, feeling tired and taking the easy way out when cooking.
Wohlers said she had not even watched The Biggest Loser when the series producer started their search for suitable participants.
"I never thought I would be on a TV show like this and I had never watched the show but when they came to Ararat, I thought this is a golden opportunity to lose weight," she said.
"To go on it and expose yourself on to your friends, I knew would motivate me."
Wohlers said that as simple as it may sound, there is only one person who can change your outlook on life and tackle your own weight issue.
"You have to look after number one and you think you can't do this and you really can do this," she said.
"If you don't like what you see in the mirror then you have to change it."
