A bushfire that destroyed a home north of Perth has eased and no longer poses a threat to lives or homes.

The blaze at Bindoon in the Shire of Chittering was reported just after 1pm on Sunday and was soon declared an emergency, but the alert level was reduced to an advice late on Monday afternoon.

There are still hotspots throughout the Bindoon town site and to the west of Julimar State Forrest.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has confirmed one home, two sheds and an art studio have been lost.
