Bird keen on ANZAC Test revenge vs Kiwis

Gold Coast enforcer Greg Bird says he's hopeful he's done enough to retain his spot when Australia's team for next month's ANZAC Test is named.

Gold Coast lock Greg Bird admits he has one eye on next month's ANZAC Test against New Zealand as the Kangaroos aim to avenge last year's Four Nations defeat.

Bird was part of the Australia team which fell 22-18 to the Kiwis in Wellington in November's final and will hope to get the chance to make amends when Tim Sheens names his team for the one-off Test in Brisbane on May 1.

The 30-year-old, who will make his 100th NRL appearance for the Titans against Penrith on Saturday, also said he was happy for the team to be labelled Dad's Army with 10 players aged 30 or above expected to be named.
