Gold Coast veteran Greg Bird expects his teammates to be energised by Monday's NRL draw against table-topping Cronulla.
The Titans held the in-form Sharks to an 18-all draw in front of a bumper home crowd of 14,918 - ending Cronulla's 15-game winning streak in the process.
The result keeps the Titans (23) in seventh on the ladder, one point clear of the eighth-placed Warriors (22).
The New Zealand-based club visit Robina this Sunday in another pivotal clash in the race to finish in the top eight.
Bird says Monday's effort shows the Titans are good enough to play finals for the first time since 2010.
"Against the number one contenders for the premiership, I'm pretty happy to be honest," Bird said.
"We took them to the end of the game, that's going to give our boys some confidence.
"You really rate yourself against the best and we did that."
The clash also featured a run-in between Bird and his old Sharks and NSW teammate Paul Gallen - which the 31-year-old laughed off after the match.
"He ran in and pushed, (then) I ran in and pushed him," Bird said.
"I wish I'd put him on his arse, that would've been better. He's too low to the ground, he's too balanced."
