Bishop claims review could be made public

The findings of a Finance Department investigation into Bronwyn Bishop's travel claims could be be made public.

Finance Minister Mathias Cormann says there's no reason why the findings of an investigation into the travel claims of former Speaker Bronwyn Bishop won't be made public.

But any decision would be entirely for the head of his department and not the government, he told ABC radio.

Mrs Bishop had asked the Finance Department to look at claims going back 10 years, including a controversial decision to charter a helicopter to take her from Melbourne to Geelong for a Liberal Party fundraiser.
