Foreign Minister Julie Bishop will attend a high-level meeting in Paris next week to discuss the crisis in Iraq and Syria and responses in dealing with so-called foreign fighters.

The meeting on June 2 will be attended by members of the US-led coalition fighting Islamic State, and will be hosted by US Secretary of State John Kerry, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Jawad Kadhim al-Abadi.

"This will reaffirm the resolve of the coalition to defeat Daish in the Middle East," Ms Bishop told parliament on Wednesday.
