Italy's defender Giorgio Chiellini (R) shows an apparent bite mark by Uruguay forward Luis Suarez to Uruguay's midfielder Gaston Ramirez.

Uruguay has sensationally sent four time World Cup champion Italy out of the championship with a dramatic 1-0 victory.

There was controversy, with Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini accusing Uruguay striker Luis Suarez of biting him on the shoulder.
