Carlton forward Levi Casboult says the recruitment of Sav Rocca as his kicking coach is starting to reap rewards and he's feeling more confident.

Carlton forward Levi Casboult says Sav Rocca is helping his boot his goal-kicking demons to the kerb.

Former AFL spearhead Rocca joined the Blues as a specialist coach in April and Casboult feels he is starting to see some results.

Rocca slotted 748 goals for Collingwood and North Melbourne before playing seven NFL seasons as a punter for the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins.

"Sav has been massive for me," Casboult said.

"Obviously my goalkicking has been very inconsistent and a talking point for a lot of people so he's come in and simplified things.

"I'm going in with one or two little focuses.

"I'm kicking straighter so that helps with confidence and I think most people play on confidence, so the more the better."

Casboult failed to kick a goal in the pre-season NAB Challenge and was 7.3 from set shots going into their clash last round with the Sydney Swans.

He finished with 2.0, both set shots from just inside 50m.

"A lot of it's my technique isn't 100 per cent, so I'm trying to fix that at training and it's just about repetition so in a game I don't go back to my bad technique," the 25-year-old said.

His next test will come against Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday.
